Womens’ Consultation and Solidarity Center was Presented

At Women’s Consultation and Solidarity Center which started working in September 2019, an open office event was held on February 13th. It was intended to introduce the center to especially beneficiaries, local authorities and non-governmental organizations.

The center opened to provide the Syrian, Afghan and Turkish women a safe space where they can express themselves, to strengthen the communication and solidarity. The center provides medical, legal and psychosocial support services, informative talks developed with womens’ demands, art and sport activities. There are child-friendly spaces to ensure that women are joining these activities without any concern. During the time women spend at the center, their children accompanied by specialists play fun and creative games in these spaces.

During the open office event, a painting workshop was made with women and children. Women embellished the centers’ walls with their unique colors and drawings. Some women offered the cake and biscuits to both their friends and guests. The open office event attended by nearly 200 guests took its place among Womens’ Consultation and Solidarity Center’s works, as a joyous day full of exchange. One of the beneficiary women said, “We came here with our hearts, not with our feet”. The expression manifested the strength of her connection with the center.

Womens’ Consultation and Solidarity Center continues its work with the cooperation of Mavi Kalem and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).
